Meta tags-The familiar words for webmasters, the most important of each blog and website,what is its feature?It is a short code is set in your source code, before the title tag, it describes little quick information about your site and tells the search engines what your site is all about.
If you want to get much traffic from the famous search engine as Google, Yahoo,MSN,... you have to know this and must add it to your site, it is the most important in your SEO(Search Engine Optimisation) work.

For example , the image below is the result when you type the word "Zenplate" , it will appears little information about my site, that is called meta tag.

There are 3 necessary kinds of meta tag for you to add to your blog, but you just need to add 2 of them anyway, they are "description" , " keyword" and " author".

Here is the instruction how to add them to your blog:
-Log in your blogger account then go straight to Layout > Edit HTML
-Look for the first lines you will see the line <title><data:blog.pageTitle/></title>
-Ok now add these meta tag code right before it :

<meta content='DESCRIPTION HERE' name='description'/>
<meta content='KEYWORDS HERE' name='keywords'/>
<meta content='AUTHOR NAME HERE' name='author'/>


Note:
-Look for the red code: that is the place need to write some description about your blog, you should not write too long for your description, make it short , remember it!
-Several people were filling with just the keywords in the description.DON'T DO THAT.Google and other search engines will ban your site from the search engines list if you did so.And also,don't repeat the keyword more than 3 times.
